We're Not in Kansas Anymore, ToTo!!!

Just couldn't resist posting this pic that Ken took right outside our front door this afternoon. I was headed to the dentist's office - rushing out the front door - and was stopped in my tracks by these beautiful cloud formations -- I think they're Cirrus clouds ......

This wasn't the only one -- there were probably 5 -6 huge clouds as far as you could see - just filling up the sky --- they were fantastic!

They reminded me of what it would look like if you took a huge ostrich plume and bent it into a 1/2 circle --- so feathery & beautiful!!

Thanks Lord for your amazing creation!

(PS -- we submitted the photo to Weatherbug!!! Fun!)

What Decorators Do When They're Bored?

Remember my pics from March postings of my beautiful living room?

Well ...... it's not lookin' too pretty right now! We're getting a NEW ROOF!

Because the ceiling is open to the roof-line , once they remove the shingles, woo-boy, what a mess. We moved all our furniture into the middle of the room (except for the big hutch) and covered everything with a plastic tarp --- Right now there's about a 1/2 inch of roof crud on every surface imaginable!!! (well, maybe I'm exaggerating ---- NOT!)

Needless to say, that living room is going to be super clean once they're done.

Now, who can I find to do that dirty little job? hmmmmmmmmmmmmmm
Any volunteers?

Thank the Lord the rest of the house doesn't look like that -- but all the decorations are either on the dining room table or on the back porch!!!!.

Ken said that right now the LR looks like it probably would if he were decorator! hehehehe
I've always said he could be happy in a hut (as long as he had me!)

The one good thing about this mess is that it makes me not want to spend too much time here at the house, so I've spent some time at my storage, cleaning/clearing that out too! (did I mention we emptied the attic on Saturday? & all THAT stuff went to our storage)

Ah, life in the fast lane .........
Didn't anyone turn me in for "Clean House"!?!?!

Just Back from SD ....... Again!

I got to spend a WHOLE WEEK with my beautiful girls and my prince of a grandson,Leo! Samuel was in Philadelphia for the week on business - so, of course, Mimi to the 'rescue' so mom wouldn't have to drive so far to the babysitter on the days she had to work. It's not very often we get to spend time together - just us girls - so that made for a special week & then I did get to spend time with Samuel when he got back -- always fun. We hooked up with my niece, Heather, on Sunday @ Panera (one of our fav spots) -- Her husband, Daniel, is waiting for her in Frankfurt, Germany. She'll be traveling the end of July to meet him & live there for 3 years! Daniel is recently returned from his 3rd tour in Iraq and was offered the opportunity to work for the embassy system as a sort of liason for the guys/gals stationed at the American Embassies in Europe. Sounds like a fabulous opportunity for both he and Heather -- they LOVE to travel, she takes fabulous pictures and there are no little ones yet, so why not? This duty will be considerably different for Daniel than his last 3 tours were!!! I think they're looking forward to being together more. Heather is just finishing her work/studies for her Masters -- congratulations you two!!
And what can I say about LEO!?!?! Wow -- he is so much fun right now ... his little personality is coming out loud & clear!! He had me laughing all week! He is SO active -- I told Jenna not to be too anxious to have him crawling/walking!!
My favorite times of the week: watching him play hide/seek with his mommy while in his crib & him squealing in delight when he would find her ........gumming his 'microwave' oatmeal (that boy LOVES his food) ........ immediately looking for his shadow the minute he goes outside (practically falling out of your arms in doing so!)........ standing at the folding chair and making drum noises by banging on the seat & yelling .......
Did I mention I LOVE THIS BOY?!! Here are pics from the week!!

We're Headed to Stanford

FYI for everybody --- I've started a new blog to chronicle our journey to the center of Ken's brain!! I've added it to my favs list as Ken's Brain Storm.......... Hopefully, this will be an easier way to keep everybody up-to-speed on the process and his progress.

I realize some of you reading this may not know that Ken was diagnosed with Parkinson's in December of 2005. If you want to know more, just leave a comment.

HOME AGAIN ..... HOME AGAIN ......

jiggedy-jig ........

The only thing that makes me "OK" with leaving Leo & all the 'kids' is that I get to go home to the best husband in the world! I am so thankful for him and the life we have together ......

and especially the fact that he willingly (?) lets me spend time in SD without him.
LOVE U HONEY!

SO ................ back on SouthWest! (Did I mention I've already earned a free rewards trip?!?!?!)Thought you'd appreciate my view from the air!

Couldn't resist a parting shot of the fabulous luggage towers at the Sacramento Airport ----probably the most creative art I've seen in an airport. I LOVE IT!

Till next time ........

ONE OF MY FAVORITE SPOTS ....

is the beach in Oceanside. I can literally feel things unravel in my head and body at the beach ........ and there's something magical about the pier at night (as you can see from the picture).

Jenna, Sam and Leo took me for a visit Thursday night - squeekin' it in before I went back to Yuba Duba. It was probably the perfect night - breezy, but not cold - just needed a hoodie.

Leo promptly fell asleep in the cool ocean air, but was gallant enough to take Mimi for Coldstone ice cream before we took him home for the night to fall asleep listening to 'wave' sounds.

Good night & good bye my sweet prince........

LIFE WITH LEO

..... consists of lots of bottles and entertainment - mostly him entertaining me!

Leo helped MiMi do the laundry (oh if that were only the case!) Actually, when you have to cart the baby & the laundry up & down the stairs it gets pretty interesting. I know now why God gives you kids when you're young!

Leo is so interested in everything that people do ---- it was fun to watch him 'people watch' when we were out & about --- he seems fascinated by others & of course, loves just 'chillin' with his mom & dad.
